The BDL Summer League concluded last night with Lickey End B Away to Stoke Prior Club
Lickey got off to a great start with Matt Anthony and Cameron Meakin winning close games 1-2 respectively. In Game 3 Stoke hit back beating Billy Cowsill 2-0. Dean Caswell restored a 2-game lead with a 2-1 win in game 4 but Stoke came back again in game 5 beating Steve Brunn 1-2. In his last game for Lickey, Dylan won his match 6 0-2 making it 2-4 going into the doubles.
Lickey didn’t take long to wrap the match up with a 0-2 win from Dylan and Cam however Stoke weren’t finished and beat Alvin Holland and Roy Davies 2-0 in Game 8 and Matt and Dean 2-1 in the final game. Final score 4-5 and a great end to a season of two halves for Lickey B who started poorly but came back strong in the second half.
The BDL takes a break for a few weeks now before the Winter Leage begins later this month.

While the B Team were playing away, the A Team hosted a small tournament amongst themselves at home. 8 players signed on for 2 groups of 4.
In Group 1 Steve Groves qualified top with Martin Bloomer narrowly beating Jason for the 2nd spot. In Group 2 Paul Prince qualified unbeaten and was jined by Geoff Nokes

In the first semi-final Geoff upset the form book beating Steve 3-2 in a close match that could have gone either way. It was a similar story in the 2nd semi-final too with Martin taking Paul to a final leg but Paul got over the line first 3-2
In the 3rd place play-off Steve beat Martin 3-1 and in the final Geoff was seeking revenge for his group game defeat but it wasn’t to be with Paul winning 3-1
