With the Lickey A Team on a bye this week it was left to Lickey B to carry the torch for LESC at home vs Stoke Prior Club in the BDL
In Game 1, Cameron Meakin made a very strong start despatching Stoke 2-0 backed up by Matt Anthony in the next game 2-1. In Game 3, Stoke didn’t let us run away with it taking a close game 1-2 against Dylan Rowe. Game 3 was another close affair but Dean Caswell edged Lickey over the line 2-1. In Game 5, Billy Cowsill was undone by a strong Stoke performance 0-2 which gave Stoke a sniff of a comeback but Steve Brunn established a two game lead again winning 2-1.
Into the doubles, the match was poised at 4-2 with Lickey only needing one result to win the match. In Game 7 Dean and Cam did the honours grinding out a 2-1 win. With the pressure off now, Billy and Steve won the next game 2-1 and in the final game of the night Lickey made it a full house for the doubles with another 2-1 win from Matt and Alvin Holland.
After a sticky start to the Summer League, Lickey B are on a run, winning their 5th match on the bounce. Final score 7-2
