There was more BDL action for LESC last night. Lickey A were away to Rubery MC and Lickey B hosted Blackwell Club.
For Lickey A, it was successful night despite some below-par performances. In Game 1, Geoff Nokes depatched Rubery 0-2. In Game 2, Ed McManus came back from 1-0 down to wire a 130 checkout for the match only to lose on the next dart 1-2. In a close game, an off colour Steve Groves made hard work of his match losing 1-2. Games 4 and 5 went to plan with Russ Tolley and Paul Prince winning 0-2 each backed up Gaz Troth winning 0-2 too in Game 6 making it 2-4 going into the doubles.
Our reliable duo, Russ and Jim Mildner got Lickey over the line 1-2 in Game 7. A poor performance from Steve and Paul in Game 8 saw a 2-0 loss but Ed and Gaz made the scoreline a repeat of the home game with a 0-2 win. Final score 3-6.
…and thanks to guest scorer Dan Prince for stepping in
Lickey B faced a tough match against Blackwell. In Game 1, Blackwell gambled on a strong start and it paid off with a win against unbeaten Matt Anthony 0-2. In Game 2, Cameron Meakin restored parity winning 2-0. Dylan Rowe added to the tally taking his match 2-1 then Billy Cowsill piled on more pressure with a 2-0 win in Game 4. Steve Brunn lost a close one 1-2 in Game 5 but Dean Caswell restored the lead in Game 6 taking it 2-0.
In the first doubles match, Cam and Billy got Lickey over the line 2-0. Dean and Matt added to the tally 2-0 in Game 7 but Blackwell restored some pride taking the final match 0-2 from Alvin Holland and Mark Wynn-Smith. Final score 6-3.
With wins across the board, a great night for LESC Darts.

The current league positions are looking pretty strong for Lickey A & B with 2nd and 3rd positions in Division 2 & 3 respectively.
