It was another successful night for both LESC darts teams in the BDL this week.

Lickey B were away to The Hope Pole B. In Game 1 Matt Anthony despatched Hop Pole 0-2 to get Lickey off to a strong start. In Game 2 Cameron Meakin backed that up with another 0-2 win too. Billy Cowsill was tested in Game 3 but came through 1-2. Hop Pole stopped the surge from Lickey in Game 4, Steve Brunn losing a close game 2-1. In Game 5 Mark Wynn-Smith lost 0-2 and gave Hop Pole hopes of a comeback but in Game 6 Alvin Holland restored the lead winning 1-2 and making it 2-4 going into the doubles.

In the first doubles match Dylan Rowe and Colin Mckinley won 0-2 to wrap the match up with 2 games to play. In Game 8 Matt And Cam continued the winning streak for Lickey taking it 0-2 and in the final game, Billy and Alvin teamed up to despatch Hop Pole 0-2 again. Final score, an impressive 2-7 win.

Lickey A hosted Millfields SC who came to us on the back of a recent run of wins. In Game 1, an out-of-sorts Ed McManus struggled and lost it 0-2. In Game 2, Geoff ‘Dizzy’ Nokes took a close one 2-0 . In Game 3, Steve Groves was put under pressure but came through 2-0 which included a 102 checkout to put Lickey in the lead for the first time. In Game 4, Paul Prince lost a nervy first leg then turned up to dig out a 2-1 win with a 108 checkout in the final leg. It was close again in Game 5 with Gaz Troth having to dig deep to get over the line 2-1. And it was a similar story in Game 6, with Jason Evans losing leg 1 and then edging another thriller 2-1 to wrap up the match with the doubles to play.

In the first doubles match Steve and Paul outclassed Millies and took it 2-0. In Game 7, Ed and Geoff had a scrappy game but got over the line 2-1 and in the final game it was another really close match which Jim Mildner and Gaz took 2-1. Final score 8-1 which didn’t reflect how well Millies played or how close some of the games were.
