The Bromsgrove Darts League don’t have matches on Bank Holiday’s so Lickey End’s Darts Teams competed in a Monday Night Round Robin + KO last night
12 players signed on which meant two groups of 6 played a group phase with the top 4 from each going through to a quarter-final
In Group 1, an unbeaten Russ Tolley topped the group with 5 wins followed by a strong performance by Steve Brunn then Ed McManus and Matt Anthony.
In Group 2, an unbeaten Steve Groves topped the group followed by Geoff Nokes, Ben Jackson and Colin McKinley.
In QF 1, Colin made Russ work hard for his 2-1 win. QF 2 saw Geoff and Ed battle out another nail-biter with Ed just taking the honours 2-1. In QF 3 Steve Groves beat Matt 2-0 despite his best efforts and healthy average. In the final QF, Ben saw off Steven to progress to the semis.
The first semi-final was a bit nip and tuck with Russ squeezing past Ed 2-1 to progress to the final. Semi-final 2 was a quality affair. Ben lost 2-0 despite a quality 62 average. Steve was looking strong going into the best of 5 final with Russ
The final was a bit one-sided with Steve running out a 3-0 winner with another 60+ average despite Russ’s best efforts.
