The Darts teams were both back in full swing this week with Home and Away fixtures

Lickey B resumed their campaign with a 6-3 win at home to Queens Head. In the singles, Dylan Rowe, Alvin Holland and Matt Anthony won their matches leaving the match poised at 3-3 going into the final three doubles matches. Matt and Alvin made it 4-3 with a 2-0 win. Dylan Rowe and Craig Jones closed out the match with a game to spare 2-0 in their game, and Colin Mckinley and Roy Davies made it a doubles clean sweep with a final 2-0 win their game. Final score 6-3.

After a close fought win last week, Lickey A were away to The Crown, currently second in the league.
In Game 1 Ed McManus took the first leg but Crown’s consistency and quality dragged them back to a 1-2 win. In Game 2 it was a similar pattern. Geoff Nokes took leg 1but despite a 140, a 156 away from Crown was proof of the task Lickey faced as they took it 1-2 again. In Game 3, Paul Prince was brushed aside 0-2 despite a 94 away. In Game 4, Jason Evans had darts to take the match, but Crown shone through again 1-2 despite Jason producing Lickey’s highest away shot at 112. In the next game, Steve Groves put in a solid display to take a 2-0 win and avoid the whitewash which was looking likely. Gaz Troth stepped up for Game 6 and despite some great darts including a 96 away and a ton, he lost 0-2 and The Crown took the match with the doubles to spare.

In Game 7, Jim Mildner teamed up with Jason but 112 and 98 aways were not enough to stop Crown taking it 0-2. In Game 8, Steve and Ed struggled to get away one leg which gave Crown the advantage and saw them take it 0-2 again. In the final match, Paul and Geoff struggled to get away in leg 1 but things came together in legs 2 & 3 and they took advantage of some faltering on doubles from The Crown to eek out a 2-1 win and make the final score a more respectable 2-7 to The Crown

As Lickey B maintain some winning form this week and remain high in Div 3, Lickey A are finding life tough at the top in Div 1. Despite some great individual performances, converting them into match wins is proving difficult.
