Week 3 of the Bromsgrove Darts League Winter Season saw Lickey End A & B Teams in Round 1 of the A&G Brookes Trophy. Each posted a 4 man team and faced 3 legs of 501 double-in each, all legs to count.

The B Team, for the 2nd season in succession drew Batchley Club. Away to one of the best teams in the league, it was always going to be hard to get on the board against such a good side. Dylan Rowe, Colin McKinley, Alvin Holland and Craig Jones had a tough night, all losing their games. They were unsurprisingly beaten 11-1 with Craig bagging the sole leg in game 2.

The A Team were also away at Hanbury Turn. The home side took a 3-0 lead against Geoff Nokes in game 1 despite a couple of ton visits. In game 2, Paul Prince pulled it back scoring a 140 and taking out a 98 finish en-route to a 2-1 win. In game 3, Jason Evans scored a couple of tons and checked out a 103 to lose a close match 2-1 which left Steve Groves needing a 3-0 win to draw the match level and force a decider. Steve struggled to get going in the first 2 legs but eventually got going with a 140, 121 and almost checking out a 160 in leg 3. Final score 8-4

Next Week: The A Team are HOME to Alvechurch and the B Team are AWAY at The Dog & Pheasant
